David Brinkley brings more than 25 years of experience executing over $5bn in strategic transactions for middle market firms in the government and security sector. His expertise comprises offensive and defensive cyber operations, enhanced software automation, and intelligence operations, and supports leading public and private-sector organizations globally. David has received Deal of Year accolades in each of the last four years. At Navagant, David heads the firm’s investment banking and advisory activities across the government and security sectors.
David is widely recognized for his industry expertise, which encompasses intelligence and national security activities and applied advanced technologies. In addition, David holds unique security credentials that enable him to advise on the most sensitive government transactions. David also served as a subject matter expert to the Office of the Secretary of Defense on matters pertaining to the financial health of the defense industrial base and on Pentagon-sponsored technology investments.
Prior to joining Navagant, David served as Managing Director at Capstone Partners for more than twelve years, leading that firm’s investment banking activities in government technology, software engineering, intelligence, and cyber security. While at Capstone, David closed more than two dozen transactions yielding substantial valuation premiums for his clients. Prior to Capstone, David founded Castellum Capital Advisors, a boutique advisory firm servicing middle market firms engaged in the national security sector. Prior to founding Castellum Capital, David served as Managing Director of Aronson Capital Partners, where he managed the firm’s buy and sell-side investment banking engagements.
David also serves as a Director of NextStep Fitness, a California-based non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation and wellness of individuals living with paralysis.
